I'm flattered by what people write.  I thought I would go ahead and deconstruct the photo and detail the composition behind it.  Hopefully this will give you some insight into how to get shots like this, if you like it, from your kids.

First of all this was taken using one medium light-box and an Alien Bee 800.  I have it at camera right and standing up about 7 ft.  You know this already as you can see the box very clearly in his eyes.

If you don't shoot in RAW,
    you should start.

Remember the old expression, "a picture speaks a thousand words"? Photo blogging is the embodiment of this concept. Instead of people voicing the stories that they want to share by writing them out, they do so using photographs.

    Manipulating Your Images

You can crop the photos to remove unnecessary background images and focus on the subject of the picture itself. You can also adjust the contrast, brightness, and colors to make the photo more eye-catching and appealing. Removing red eye is also possible with these programs. Plus, you can enlarge or reduce your photos at the touch of a button.
